Sodalite was discovered in Greenland in 1811 and later in Ontario, Canada. It  became known as the "Princess Blue" by the Canadian people after Princess Margaret  visited Bancroft Canada and fell in love with sodalite, and chose this crystal as the interior decoration for the “Marlborough House".
